  Dear Parents and Students:   Due to a scheduling conflict the 9th grade orientation will be moved from Thursday, April 7, 2016, to Thursday, April 21, 2016.  We will hold a 9th grade High School Orientation for all present 8th graders and their parents.  This important meeting will take place in the Media Center at 7:00 PM.  At that time, we will emphasize the importance of the four years of high school beginning with the very first day.  An overview of the curriculum will be presented and the importance of a four year plan will be emphasized.   Teachers, guidance counselors and administrators will fully explain what high school is all about and stress the need for students to be involved in every aspect of their program during the next four years.   After the presentation, we will be available to answer your questions and address your concerns.   We urge you to mark your calendars and make every effort to attend this very important informational meeting.  Entering high school is a major step for every child.  These four years of high school will have a major impact on the future of all our students.   I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, April 21st at 7:00 PM.   Sincerely,     Nicholas Capuano Principal

  To Parents of Students in Grades 7-12   Report cards for the second marking period are online.  You can access your child’s report card through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.  If you have any questions regarding grades please contact your child’s teacher. I encourage you to check your child’s grades throughout the school year and contact their teachers if you have any concerns.    If you have trouble accessing the portal please contact the Guidance Office 201-444-7400 Ext. 212.   Nicholas Capuano Principal

      Dear Parents of Juniors:   Due to a scheduling conflict the 12th grade orientation meeting will be moved from Thursday, January 28, 2016, to Thursday, February 4, 2016.  We will hold a 12th grade orientation program for all current juniors and their parents in the Media Center at 7:00 PM.  At this time, we will present an overview of senior year, including course selection, graduation requirements and college admissions.  During this presentation, we will fully explain Option II as an alternative to the acquisition of credits for graduation.   At this meeting, teachers will explain various elective courses which will be available for student selection.  Guidance Counselors will explain the steps to be taken in the college selection/admission process that begins in junior year and continues into senior year.   We will be available to answer questions and address any of your concerns.  Please mark your calendars and do everything possible to attend this information meeting with your daughter or son.  The key to a child’s academic success, as you know, is open communication between home and school.   I look forward to seeing you on February 4th.   Sincerely,       Nicholas Capuano Principal

Dear MPHS Parents/Guardians,   As many of you know, we learned yesterday that MPHS math teacher Leon Varjian has passed away suddenly.  Mr. Varjian joined the district staff in 1988 and was a dedicated math teacher and Student Senate Advisor at the high school.  He was completely devoted to his students and profession and will be very deeply missed.
