Stigma Free Mental Health First Aid Initiative for High School Students

Dear Parent/Guardian of Students in Grades 9-12,

The Borough of Midland Park in cooperation with the Bergen County Department of Health Services, would like to train 30 High School Students in mental health “first aid” in an effort to reduce the stigma associated with seeking mental health services.  This interactive workshop will feature a PowerPoint, videos, group activities and a presentation on signs and symptoms of mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as resources for getting help.

Should your son/daughter be interested in signing up for this training, please open the attachment for further information, dates and times of training, and a permission slip.  This course will be offered on a first come basis.  The course will be full once 30 students are registered.  All permissions slips must be received by Monday, November 9, 2015.  Permissions slips should returned to the attention of Mr. Rush.

Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mr. Craig Rush, Student Assistance Counselor, at [email protected]  or 201-444-7400 ext. 206.
