The Midland Park girls soccer team is headed back to the sectional championship for the first time since 2018 after a hard-fought 2-1 semifinal victory over Pascack Hills on Tuesday afternoon.

Jessica Beckmann and Eva Hagan each scored for second-seeded Midland Park, helping the Panthers secure their spot in the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 1 Final.

Hagan opened the scoring in the first half, giving Midland Park a 1-0 lead at halftime. Beckmann extended the advantage in the second half off an assist from Alex Kenney to make it 2-0. Pascack Hills’ Addyson Zoelle cut the lead to 2-1 late, but goalkeeper Karleigh Detrick and the Panthers defense held strong. Detrick finished with 11 saves in the win.

With the victory, Midland Park improves to 16-3 and advances to face fifth-seeded Pequannock in the NJSIAA North 1, Group 1 Sectional Championship on Saturday, November 15th at 11:00 AM at Midland Park High School. Pequannock advanced with a 1-0 shutout over top-seeded Waldwick.
