Midland Park senior JT Graham delivered a historic performance, scoring 37 points in a victory over Butler to become the all-time leading scorer in Midland Park basketball history.
The milestone night pushed Graham past the long-standing school record of 1,587 points, previously held by Ron Kruis. Graham’s record-breaking basket capped a dominant offensive effort and placed him at the top of one of the most significant statistical lists in Midland Park athletics.
Kruis originally set the standard during the 2014–2015 season, finishing his career with 1,587 points. His record-setting moment came during the Panthers’ season finale against Saddle Brook on February 27, 2015, when a third-quarter free throw allowed him to surpass the overall school scoring mark previously held by Rebecca Rabeiro, who scored 1,584 points for the Panther girls program.
With Graham now atop the list, Midland Park’s all-time leading scorers across both boys and girls basketball include:
JT Graham – 1,639 points (active)
Ron Kruis (Class of 2015) – 1,587 points
Rebecca Rabeiro (Class of 2014) – 1,584 points
Kristy Smith (Class of 1996) – 1,433 points
Tracy Smith (Class of 1993) – 1,383 points
Sara Luberto (Class of 2012) – 1,300 points
Aaron Syversten (Class of 2006) – 1,299 points
Ryan Fells (Class of 1997) – 1,161 points
Ken Kruis (Class of 2009) – 1,141 points
Graham’s accomplishment has also drawn regional attention. He was recently featured in a NorthJersey.com article published on January 19 titled “North Jersey Top 25 boys basketball rankings, two players set program records." Parents and community members can read the full article here:
