Midland Park Indoor Track continues to make history this winter season with record breaking performances and strong postseason results from Riley Butler and Cienna Thimme.

At the NJSIAA North 1 Group 1 Sectional Championships on February 7, 2026, Riley captured the Girls Shot Put Sectional Championship while setting a new Midland Park indoor school record with a throw of 38 feet, 1.25 inches, surpassing the previous mark of 38 feet, 0.50 inches. Winning a sectional title and breaking the school record on the same day highlights a standout performance and a season defined by growth and competitive consistency.

Cienna Thimme also delivered a historic performance at the sectional meet, breaking the Midland Park indoor pole vault school record with a clearance of 8 feet. Her effort earned a 5th place finish, securing qualification to the State Group Championships and marking another milestone for the program.

Both athletes will now represent Midland Park at the NJSIAA State Group Championships on Saturday, February 28 in Toms River, competing among the state’s top performers in their respective events.

The Midland Park community congratulates Riley and Cienna on their record setting achievements and outstanding sectional performances. Best of luck to both athletes this weekend as they compete at the State Group Championships and continue to represent Midland Park with pride.
