NAVIANCE FAMILY CONNECTION

Dear Parents:

Naviance Family Connection is a Web-based service designed especially for students and parents. Family Connection is a comprehensive website that you and your child can use to assist you in making decisions about courses, colleges, and careers. Family Connection is linked with College Planner, a service that we will use in our office to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that’s specific to our school.

Family Connection will allow you and your child to:

  • Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete on-line surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers
  • Research colleges – Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past
  • Learn about college visits – Find out which colleges are visiting our school.  Students can print a college visit pass for the teacher’s signature.  All students must have a pass signed by their teacher to attend a college visit.
  • Learn about news updates – Family Connection News Bulletins updates will keep you informed about college open houses, college fairs and up-coming meetings and events.
  • Learn about scholarship opportunities – Scholarship opportunities will be posted in Naviance with deadline dates and scholarship details.

Family Connection lets us share important information with you and your child which will include Web resources for college and career information and a link that your child can use to send us an e-mail message and receive e-mail messages from us.

We hope that you will find this resource helpful. We are excited to start using this program with parents and students.  If you have further questions about Family Connection, please contact us.

Sincerely,

MPHS Guidance Office
